The holiday farmhouse is situated in a fascinating medieval village called Castellaro Lagusello, which was appointed one of the most beautiful villages in Italy in 2002.

The oldest part of the village is still surrounded by its original city walls with Guelph battlements.

In the village, the old clock tower, the baroque church, the castle dating back to the 13th century and the palace once belonged to the Taccoli marquis can still be visited today.

Close to the centre of the village you can find a natural reserve of outstanding natural beauty. From there you can have an amazing view over the fortified village and over the heart-shaped lake.

The surrounding areas are still very popular since they were the places where the battles for the independence in Italy were fought.

In S.Martino there is a popular tower, in Solferino there is a fortress and a charnel house while in Cavriana you can visit the Archaeological Museum which hosts some interesting finds of ancient populations living in the northern part of the province of Mantua.

Particularly worth a visit is the village called Borghetto sul Mincio with its typical water mills and its picturesque alleys.
